Okay, sorry but is anyone else going insane over the new longform on the latest Patreon livestream?? (I needed to find a way to get thoughts out, then I remembered I made a Star Trek blog for this exact reason.)

I had a dream last night and Trip and Malcolm were in it, and I don’t remember where I was but I think I was in a hotel room, AND THEN ALL I SEE IS MALCOLM CHASING DOWN TRIP IN A HALLWAY (Trip was in a bathrobe??) AND MALCOLM SHOUTING

okay it's two am so it's time for me to talk about malcolm in the middle (2000-2006) and stanley winn who appears in like five episodes of season one to have intense homoerotic tension with francis (his roommate/best friend (???)) and then is never seen again. here is his character summary:

what if we were military school roommates. and i inexplicably decide to protect you from hazing and make an "informal agreement" where people call me your bodyguard and we have a specific arrangement about physical touch and i give you black eyes so you can ditch class. and i help you pull off your anti-authoritarian pranks even though i know i'll get in trouble too. and i ask for nothing in return except maybe weirdly homoerotic workout sessions. and also getting to express my own disillusionment with the system. and for the fact that i'm always in on the joke. and that you never ever lie to me. what if the only time i'm seen smiling is when i'm with you.

and then what if the one time i ask you to do something that i genuinely believe in. what if you lied to me to get out of it. and what if it was such a betrayal that i decided to disappear from the canon of your life forever.

and what if we looked at each other like this:

sorry I'm so MIA but I've been rewatching Malcolm in the middle and a lot of the opinions I've seen online COUGH REDDIT COUGH r quite frankly just bizarre as in, quoting myself, "when The Boys in mitm do something genuinely illegal and terrible and everyone understands it's a sitcom and can giggle but when The Mom is yelling exaggeratedly suddenly this is a Serious Show and she's abusive and narcissistic and should die 🤨"

#like if you're genuinely judging actions on this show as you would real life #Lois would be like the LEAST WORST PERSON #anyways i am really enjoying it #malcolm in the middle #lois wilkerson #shes great genuinely #nobody in the show is perfect #and a lot of times when i am ?? at their actions its on bad WRITING #like u dont have to take every facet of canon as the gospel #you can reasonably understand when characters are being OOC surely #its ok to look at canon and say nah they wouldnt do that and move on #like damn #People will talk shit about lois in one sentence and then follow it up with how much they love Canonically Unrepentant School Bully Reese #LIKE HELLO #BE CONSISTENT AT LEAST #I love them all
